Why Google shows less backlinks than MSN or Yahoo

A common question among website developers is: how come when I use link:www.geekpedia.com (for example) in Google to find out the websites who link back to me, I get less results than I get when searching for backlinks using MSN Search, or Yahoo Search?
Well, the main reason is that when you search for backlinks using link:www.geekpedia.com you get only the websites that link directly to the domain www.geekpedia.com (the home page), so the ones that link to other pages of your website are not listed. MSN and Yahoo, however, list all the websites that link to any page on that domain.
