What is Web 2.0
Perhaps you wonder what is this web 2.0 thing you keep hearing about.
Web 2.0 is more of a concept than a set of standards, an overall improvement of the website. It involves using AJAX, web services, RSS feeds, compliant XHTML, CSS and similar technologies which you can find on websites such as Technorati and Digg.
Also, web 2.0 involves focusing on content, cross-browser compatibility and an ergonomic layout rather than graphics. Making your content easily accessible by people with disabilities is also a priority of web 2.0.
Therefore, as you can see there is no set of standards for web 2.0 yet, and probably there will never be one. Web 2.0 is about using the latest web technologies in order to improve the browsing experience, and being standard compliant.
