When the last 72 hours of work were useless

So while I was reviewing what’s left to do for Feedpedia, I found a major inconvenience in the code I’ve written for caching the RSS headlines of a feed, one that slows the application unnecesarily, and which I can avoid by taking a different approach. As a software developer, I can’t possibly think of keeping the code unoptimized like this when I clearly see how it should’ve been from the beginning.
It hurts that I have to rewrite what I worked in the past 2-3 days, but it’s not the first time, and I’m sure it won’t be the last time either.
