The Internet Explorer team met the Mozilla team

Yes they did, in Silicon Valley, to discuss the RSS icon that’s going to be implemented in the browsers.

And in the user’s best interest (to standardize on an icon) they decided upon the following icon:

RSS Feed Icon

This icon will be displayed in both Internet Explorer and Firefox when an RSS feed is discovered on the page. Actually, it’s already implemented in the current versions of Firefox.
